Ever wondered why it’s called Bluetooth?
According to my buddy, ChatGPT, Bluetooth is named after a Viking king of Denmark and Norway from the 10th century. Harald “Bluetooth” Gormsson was known for his off-colored tooth, strong communication skills, and the ability to unite different Scandinavian tribes, similar to how Bluetooth technology connects different devices wirelessly. FUN FACT: The logo is a combination of his Nordic initials “H” (ᛡ) and “B” (ᛒ). Pretty fascinating, if it’s true.
Very simply, I enjoy listening to music, podcasts, anything audio, every chance I get! My Bluetooth speaker has wayyyyyyy better sound quality than my iPhone, iPad , or laptop. Not Alexa, not an Echo dot…not something that is “listening” to me. No! This is just a wireless speaker that plays what I choose.
I’ll admit, more and more, I prefer to listen to my little speaker rather than the Sonos setup I have at home. I really like the flexibility of a sound machine I can tote along anywhere I go!
In the bathroom, for music while I shower, and to listen and learn something while doing my hair and makeup. Conveniently portable and usually waterproof for outdoors, while I garden, wash my car, or entertain. Always useful on my travels, in my hotel room, on the beach, golf course, boat, etc. Any place I stay with family and/or friends, just in case, because it never fails to come in handy!
Convenient, portable, waterproof, wireless, better sound quality…all great reasons why my Bluetooth speaker is something I have to have!
