Things I Have to Have: My Daypack Backpack

Exploring Lake Powell

I was told to bring a daypack on my van-camping trip out west. Instead of buying something new, I remembered this little backpack I’ve had for years. It folds into itself to the size of my fist!  A novelty at first, it’s turned out to be incredibly useful.

Unlike string backpack’s, where everything disappears into the abyss, this little pack has perfectly placed pockets for all my essentials—everything in its proper place. I can find exactly what I’m looking for, instantly and effortlessly. And really, isn’t that what we’re all after?

Not beholden to the unbalanced act of a shoulder bag (though I enjoy those too). With everything squared on my back, I am hands-free and ready to explore—the best way to go!

Too small to be my main travel backpack, but perfect to tuck away in my luggage—ready to be pulled out and put to use once I arrive at my destination, wherever that is. This little daypack has become my go-to purse, essential carryall, and ideal travel companion.

Of course, this bag isn’t suitable for all trips, but it’s been perfect for my latest adventures. Reminding me that my daypack backpack is something I have to have!
